About Klondike Solitaire
Klondike is the solitaire card game most people think of when they hear "solitaire" — the one that shipped with Windows for decades. Deal 28 cards into a seven-column tableau, keep the rest as a stockpile, and try to move all 52 cards onto the four foundation piles. Foundations build up from Ace to King in a single suit. Tableau columns build down in alternating colours. Only Kings can move into an empty column.
Pondernook Klondike runs the classic draw-one variant in your browser — no install, no signup, no account. Tap-to-select moves, double-tap to send a card straight to its foundation, and unlimited undo if you want to back out of a mistake. Some deals are unwinnable, which is part of the game; with optimal play, around four out of five draw-one shuffles can be solved. Plays on mobile via touch.
Frequently asked questions
Is this draw-one or draw-three?
Draw-one — you turn a single card at a time from the stock. It's the easier classic variant; with good play roughly four in five deals are winnable.
How do I move a card to its foundation quickly?
Double-tap (or double-click) a card to send it straight home whenever a foundation can accept it, instead of dragging it across.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes — undo is unlimited, so you can back out of a line as many steps as you need to try a different approach.
